KASPMORNIIPROEKT
(Caspian Sea Scientific Research Institute Project)

   The worthy contribution to the development of ferry communication is brought by the scientific research and project-investigation institute - the "Kaspmorniiproekt". It has developed the projects of the ferry complexes in ports of Baku, Turkmenbashi (Krasnovodsk), Aktau, Bekdash. "Kaspmorniiproekt" was the head institution in the former SU Marine Sea Fleet Ministry for the cases of the Ferry Passages designing.
   Under the projects of the institute were created such ferry passages as the Vanino-Kholmsk, which is connected the island of Sakhalin with the continent, Ilichevsk-Varna, which is connected the ports of Ukraine and Bulgaria, Klaipeda-Mukran, which is connected the ports of the Baltic States and Germany.
   The stuff of the institute possesses the authorship of the project of hydraulic engineering structures of the factory of deep-water bases located in Karadagh area of Baku, projects of carrying out of the petroleum from the Baku bay, reconstruction of ship-repairing factories, navigable channels; they also developed the projects of inhabited, public buildings and structures. Many of the prospecting and design projects were executed in Syria, Libya, Iran, Bulgaria, Afghanistan.
